Second Time Around Photos

In this day of electronics and computer programs, it is not very difficult to learn how to "touch up" or change a photo in one way or another. It is possible to crop or cut out a portion of the photo, add an entirely new item to the photo, fill in a spot that is washed out, change a color or tint, and re-size the whole photo or portions of it. I cannot name all the things that can be done to a photo. Some editing programs have many built in filters and there is a long list of filters that can be added to most image editing programs. Some of them add textures or change the photo to watercolor, chalk, charcoal, or pencil. Numerous effects can be obtained.

I started playing with the free Picture It! program that came with my older computers. They were loaded with Windows 98 and other older versions such as Windows 2000 and 2002. These image editing programs were basic and easy to understand but are not usually compatible with the newer computers. A few years ago I purchased Microsoft's Digital Image 2006 program, which is no longer sold but I learned how to manipulate photos to a decent quality. I now have the Paint Shop and the Photo Shop programs but have not mastered either of those. I really need to spend some time with Photo Shop, as that is the one I am most interested in learning.

In this blog, I will be displaying some of the photos I have given a second chance to become new again and in some cases, something very different.

Never throw out an old photo as it is possible to give it new life the second time around!
